Why dentistry
I want to work in dentistry because it improves people's health and their confidence, and because the work itself is precise and hands-on.
At Hunter College I study Human Biology, with a minor in Russian literature and language. Shadowing at Midtown Dental Group showed me the daily work of a practice: cleanings, extractions, fillings and bridge fittings, and the sterilizing and room setup that come before every patient.
Coaching high school seniors at CUNY K16 taught me how much patient, clear guidance matters. I want to bring the same care to my future patients.

Guided caseloads of 260, 300 and 330 New York City high school seniors through college enrollment, financial aid and registration. Completed the CCB4A Senior Coach Leadership Development Program, then interviewed, trained and mentored new coaches.
Dental shadowing

Shadowed dentists and hygienists through cleanings, wisdom tooth extractions, fillings, bridge fittings and restorations. Sterilized instruments, prepared operatories, and saw how x-rays and 3D scans guide treatment planning.

Weill Cornell Medicine
Worked as production staff at a two-day neonatal critical care simulation conference, resetting equipment between cases. Also volunteered as an ultrasound model for medical training courses.
